How do I interpret options “PUT” or “CALL” information on a table?

Whenever you look at options positions on the table, please be advised that only the Value(x1000) column refers to the options contract; all other values refer to the securities themselves. Hence, when you see shares entries with a “PUT” or “CALL” legend under the Opt column, that means you need to divide that number of shares by a hundred to reach the number of options contracts.

This procedure is done as per the 13F filing guideline from the SEC:

“ A Manager must report holdings of options only if the options themselves are Section 13(f) securities. For purposes of the $100,000,000 reporting threshold, the Manager should consider only the value of such options, not the value of the underlying shares. The Manager must give the entries in Columns 1 through 5 and in Columns 7 and 8 of the Information Table, however, in terms of the securities underlying the options, not the options themselves.”
