We source data from a variety of places, and one of them is XBRL data encoded directly in the SEC filings. We have found that generally this data is current, and when a new value is disclosed we have treated it as such.
However, on March 23, GME filed a 10-K where they disclosed float of 244M shares. Our systems treated this as a current value, but unfortunately, the value was as of July 31, 2020 - nine months prior.
In order to prevent this from happening in the future, we will re-examine the systems that extract this data to ensure that stale data of this type is not reported as current.
